23rd May 2017 ,Thunder Tiger Aviation Training (TTAT) is delighted to announce that they have received their Registered Training Facility Approval from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). In a statement today Capt Julie Garland, the Chief Flying Instructor, said “This is a great day for Thunder Tiger Aviation Training (TTAT) and our first step in the provision of global training courses for approval by multiple Civil Aviation Authorities. We will be providing both ground & flight training courses and flight testing for single rotor, multi rotor and fixed wing drones up to 25kgs, initially form our base at Weston Airport in Dublin, Ireland.
The current course is a mandatory 16 hours classroom tuition and 7 hours optional flight training. On successful completion of the training the candidates undergo a Flight and Theoretical Knowledge test for the grant of their Pilot Competence Certificate (PCC) and Specific Operating Permission (SOP).
TTAT will also be providing Drone Flight & Ground Instructor Ratings for those who wish to establish their own internal training program within an approved Drone Operator Organisation or a stand alone Approved Training Facility.
Capt Garland is the CEO of Thunder Tiger Aviation and the Chief Flying Instructor with Thunder Tiger Aviation Training. She has over 20 years experience in all aspects of aviation both manned and unmanned and is an IAA Authorised Examiner for all Drones up to 25kgs.”
